Schenker name Jochen Thewes as new CEO


The supervisory board of Schenker AG has appointed Jochen Thewes as Chairman of the board of management of Schenker AG from September 1, 2015. Schenker AG is a business unit of DB Schenker Logistics.

Thewes had held the role of Chief Executive Officer in Singapore since 2011, prior to which he was Senior Vice President Global Ocean Freight based at DB Schenker Head Office, Essen, Germany.

Before joining DB Schenker, Thewes held positions within Kuehne + Nagel where he spent more than 12 years in roles such as President of the company in Brazil, General Manager for central China in Shanghai and Chief Representative in Vietnam.

Jochen Thewes will take over the responsibility as CEO from Karl-Friedrich Rausch, Management Board Member for Transportation and Logistics at DB Mobility Logistics AG, who held the position on an interim basis. Rausch will leave the DB Group after 14 years effective July 31, 2015.
