Dicom Transportation acquires Orbis Logistics

Wind Point Partners, a private equity firm, has announced that Dicom Transportation Group, a Wind Point portfolio company that provides B2B expedited transportation services based in Montreal, Canada, has added last mile capabilities in the southern US through the acquisition of Orbis Logistics.

With a primary facility in New Orleans, US, Orbis Logistics is an asset-free provider of B2B last mile services. The company utilizes a regional network of agents operating through four strategically-located transfer centres and supports customers in the industrial and retail verticals. Orbis will be aligned with the logistics division of Dicom Transportation Group.

Konrad Salaber, a principal at Wind Point said, “As Dicom’s second US-based acquisition, Orbis Logistics serves as a natural extension of the Dicom platform. We are focused on building upon Dicom’s impressive growth trajectory, and we look forward to investing behind Orbis and expanding Dicom’s last mile capabilities.”

Dicom’s acquisition programme focuses on acquiring courier, LTL and transportation providers in Canada and the US. In addition, Dicom is seeking 3PL providers who manage transportation, logistics and supply chain functions for businesses in Canada, the US and Mexico.
