Weiss-Röhlig expands in Dubai

Weiss-Röhlig, a jointly owned freight forwarding subsidiary of Gebrüder Weiss and Röhlig, announced that it is to establish a €4.6m logistics terminal in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) in the UAE. The terminal allows the company to expand its current air and sea freight branch into a full-service logistics location.

The building complex is situated on the central freight transportation corridor between the port of Jebel Ali and Al Maktoum airport. Its completion is scheduled for the end of 2015.

The facility will have logistics halls covering 5,100 sq m along with office space of 720 sq m. It is planned to enable Weiss-Röhlig to provide its customers with greater access to the emerging markets in the Persian Gulf region.

“We are extensively licensed as a logistics provider in the free trade zone. Our customers can use the terminal as a trading post, without being based on site”, explained Jürgen Hammerer, Managing Director of Weiss-Röhlig Dubai and project leader of the implementation of the logistics terminal.

As from 2016 Weiss-Röhlig will be offering its customers a range of on-site services from international air and sea freight to logistics solutions, project logistics and overland distribution.
