The CMA CGM Group to operate MARIEL ZEDM in Cuba


The CMA CGM Group announced that it has signed an agreement for the operation and development of a logistics platform on the Port of Mariel, Cuba, in cooperation with the Cuban logistics company AUSA.

CMA CGM claims to be the first international company to sign such a logistics agreement. The company’s dedicated logistics subsidiary, CMA CGM LOG, will operate the logistics facility.

The platform will be part of MARIEL Zona Especial de Desarrollo Mariel, Cuba’s special economic zone project covering 4,600 ha of logistics and industrial project space.

CMA CGM LOG will operate a 17 ha logistics platform with AUSA, including 12,000 sq m of warehousing and 5,000 cu m of reefer warehouses. The company will provide goods unbundling and distribution on the island handling exports consolidation, import and export goods warehousing, container distribution and empty and full container storage.
