Pantos sets up SP EXPRESS in a JV with Seino Transportation

Pantos Logistics announced that it has signed a joint venture agreement with Seino Transportation, a Japanese ground transportation company, to expand its international small parcel delivery business.

SP EXPRESS Co., Ltd., is expected to be fully operational in Japan from the end of April 2015. The company will be responsible for the import, customs clearance and delivery of small parcels shipped from China to Japan.

Although the two parties will work together on sales and marketing, Pantos Logistics will utilize its competitiveness in China for the collection and warehousing of cargoes, as well as for the customs clearance of cargoes exported from China to Japan. SP EXPRESS will make use of the networks and infrastructures of the two companies in both Japan and China.

The cooperative venture will enable Pantos Logistics to enhance its competitiveness in Japan and lower local delivery costs in the country. It will benefit Seino Transportation by offering greater opportunities for its international logistics business.

The joint venture plans to market its business to major small parcel companies whose operations are based in China, and ultimately to expand its business to outbound small parcels from Japan utilizing the networks of the two partners.
