FSG completes acquisition of Cheetah Logistics

Frontier Services Group Limited (FSG), a Kenya-based logistics service provider for the oil & gas and mining industries, announced that it has completed its previously-disclosed transaction to acquire Cheetah Logistics SARL, a privately-held transportation company headquartered in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“With the addition of Cheetah’s well-established transportation business, we are meaningfully expanding our geographic reach into the DRC and Sub-Saharan Africa by providing transportation and logistics solutions that fall squarely within FSG’s operational capabilities,” said Gregg Smith, Chief Executive Officer of FSG.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and adjacent West African markets possess some of the richest and most inaccessible natural resources on the African continent. FSG’s strategy focuses on this opportunity and the company seeks to develop services for the secure and affordable transport of resources to and from these remote areas.

Pete Phillips, Chief Operating Officer of FSG said, “Our acquisition of Cheetah marks an important step forward for FSG in providing our customers complete logistics solutions, including land, air, sea and all of the warehousing and port management processes required to compress customers’ cycle times.”

In material terms the acquisition is expected to give FSG access to an established and licensed transportation network with trucks, trailers, forklifts and related logistics, servicing, and maintenance equipment.
