CaroTrans adds direct connections to Scandinavia

CaroTrans, a global NVOCC and ocean freight consolidator, has launched a weekly LCL service from New York, US, to Helsinki, Finland, a hub for consolidations into north western Russia. The direct service option eliminates transhipment costs and delays associated with freight moving via adjacent ports in Northern Europe.

CaroTrans has developed this service in partnership with Nordicon, an NVO in Scandinavia with offices in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. The Nordicon Team provides on-carriage to final destinations including Kotka, Lappeenranta and St. Petersburg, Russia. CaroTrans in cooperation also offers direct export services from New York, US, to Oslo, Norway; Chicago, Houston and New York in the US, to Gothenburg, Sweden; and Gothenburg to Chicago and New York import services.

“Our customers find significant value in our expanding global service network of direct export and import services. These point-to-point service choices help ensure supply chain consistency and reliability. When there’s less freight handling, cargo moves with greater stability and efficiency,” said Greg Howard, Chief Executive Officer of CaroTrans.

CaroTrans has a US network including 14 offices and 26 container freight stations. The network is designed to facilitate services that provide customers with secure freight handling, reduced inland transportation costs and dedicated local personnel.
