NYK sets up Myanmar JV for car transport

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) announced that it has established a joint venture for car transportation in Myanmar with its partners Silverbird Auto Logistics and Phee Group. The three companies started inland logistics transportation services in October 2014, and have been working since then to form the JV, NYK Silverbird Auto Logistics Ltd.

Through the joint venture NYK Line offers short-haul transportation in Myanmar from Yangon port to Yangon city. It also provides medium to long distance transportation to other cities such as Naypyidaw and Mandalay with car trailers. The joint venture also allows NYK to offer services that include storage, pre-delivery inspection and customer clearance in Myanmar.

Silverbird, which is one of NYK Line’s partners, is a comprehensive logistics company that owns and operates car carriers transporting finished automobiles in Myanmar.

Phee Group, runs logistics and container liner/ box operations, as well as shipping agencies within Southeast Asia.
