Toll acquires mining and industrial services provider ODT Australis

Toll Group announced that it has acquired mining and industrial services provider ODT Australis. The acquisition, to take effect in April 2015, is expected to generate annual revenue of approximately AU$24m.

ODT supplies industrial services and logistics support to BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam mine in Roxby Downs, Australia, and also has other contracts across the state of South Australia.

Toll Resources & Government Logistics Chief Executive Officer David Jackson stated that the acquisition boosts Toll’s on-site logistics capabilities in the resources sector. “ODT Australis has serviced the Olympic Dam mine for nearly 30 years, so it is great to be taking on so much knowledge and experience,” said Jackson.

ODT Australis General Manager Darren Lamb said, “Combining ODT’s expertise with Toll’s already-extensive capabilities will be a great result for Olympic Dam. Both companies share a proud history of safety and service excellence, and this will not change.”

Approximately 110 employees will transfer to Toll in April 2015, with five employees remaining to run ODT’s pastoral management operations – not part of the sale – at Australian locations in Andamooka, Purple Downs, Roxby Downs and Stuart Creek.
