TGW, a supplier of material handling equipment and automated storage and retrieval systems for warehousing, has announced that it will be implementing an automated warehouse solution at Adidas’ new logistics centre in Brazil.
Adidas, a sporting goods brand, is investing in a logistics centre at its site in Embu das Artes, near São Paulo, from which it intends to serve the Brazilian market.
TGW has designed a picking system especially for Adidas at the centre. The system includes a 2.1 km conveyor network along with TGW Commander controls and an iWACS IT system to enable a continuous and high capacity material flow inside the distribution centre.
TGW will also provide a lifetime service package offering spare parts and a two-year on site maintenance contract including 24/7 technical hotline services.
