Wincanton wins contract renewal with Magnet

Wincanton has announced that Magnet, a UK kitchen and joinery specialist, has renewed its national home delivery and transport contract with Wincanton in a long term deal. Magnet is part of the European kitchen group, Nobia, and originally began its relationship with Wincanton in 2006.

The renewal sees the continuation of Wincanton’s two-man home delivery and transportation service from Magnet’s manufacturing plant in Darlington to Magnet’s UK wide customers via strategic distribution sites. Under the contract Wincanton expects to handle almost 40,000 deliveries of kitchen furniture, appliances and internal joinery products a year.

Double deck trailers will be introduced to the contract, which will consolidate the transportation of kitchen and joinery products for Magnet.

Eric Born, Wincanton’s Chief Executive said, “By remaining at the forefront of supply chain innovation, Wincanton consistently adds value to our customers’ operations and we are delighted that Magnet has recognised our commitment to continuous improvement and customer care.”
