Transplace has announced plans for a Canadian office expansion to Calgary and the Greater Montreal area. The expansion aims to further increase its business across Canada and cross-border throughout North America.
“We are excited to announce the expansion of our Canadian division. The new facility in Quebec is surrounded by a unique and distinct transportation community of shippers and carriers, and Transplace has the resources, technology, and experience ready to serve this province,” said Transplace President and Commercial Chief Officer George Abernathy. “The Calgary office, located in the heart of large shale oil reserves, is a direct reflection of our oil and gas expertise and services. We look forward to working with the shippers and carriers of the Alberta Province.”
In December 2012, Transplace acquired Torus Freight Systems, a Canadian-based logistics services company focused on Canadian cross-border and intra-Canada freight, and its office in Ontario. The new Canadian offices will provide capacity to continue Transplace’s growth in the country following the integration of that business.
