Changi Airport reports rising October volumes


Singapore Changi Airport has announced its operating results for October 2014. It reported a 2.1% increase in air freight movements. The airport also handled 159,700 tonnes of cargo handled during the month, representing an increase of 8.05% month-on-month and a decrease of 0.84% year-on-year. Aircraft landings and take-offs decreased by 3.7% to 28,380.

For the period of January to October 2014, cargo shipments grew by 0.5% to 1.53m tonnes while aircraft movements were stable at 283,650 for the same period.

As at November 1, 2014, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to over 300 cities in some 70 countries and territories worldwide.
