Gebrüder Weiss has announced that it is expanding its Brno site in the Czech Republic by adding two warehouses, a cross-docking hub and additional office space.
“We are constructing a state of the art logistics warehouse, built according to TAPA security requirements and equipped with an item location system. This way we can monitor the throughput of goods even more efficiently,” said Harald Prohaska, Country Manager of the Czech Republic for Gebrüder Weiss. The expanded 32,500 sq m site is scheduled to become operational in the summer of 2015.
The new facility will be used to provide warehousing, fulfilment and delivery services for Mall.cz, an online retailer that has worked with Gebrüder Weiss as its logistics provider since 2009. As part of its service Gebrüder Weiss picks up goods from Mall.cz’s local warehouses several times a day, and within 24 hours delivers them to Mall.cz customers in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
