OnTrac, an express delivery firm operating in the western US, has announced the introduction of DirectPost, a B2C delivery service that combines the networks of USPS and OnTrac. OnTrac also announced Newegg, an internet retailer, as the first customer. Newegg is expected to begin shipping DirectPost shipments during the high volume holiday season.
As a USPS partner, OnTrac will help support USPS’s distribution services from over 2,000 postal facilities within its eight-state service area of California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado and Idaho.
“Service is the primary driver for our postal product,” Director of DirectPost Andy Webber said. “The main selling point for us is faster time in transit. That means DirectPost would offer its customers the ground service commitment plus one day.”
The regional hub-and-spoke model employed across the eight state OnTrac service area enables the company to make next-day deliveries at distances of up to 500 miles.
