arvato AG announced that it has wholly acquired OGLI, a Turkish e-commerce logistics company, from the Otto Group. The company will be incorporated into arvato’s Supply Chain Management Solutions business unit.
OGLI provides e-commerce logistics for companies operating in the verticals of fashion, beauty and sport as well as for Hepsiburada, a Turkish online retailer. The company has a site on about 8,500 sq m in Istanbul, Turkey, where it employs 150 people.
arvato states that the acquisition was designed to strengthen its competitive position in Turkey while also systematically continuing the group’s international expansion of its integrated e-businesses, following up on the acquisition of Netrada, an e-commerce and logistics service provider operating in the fashion industry. Frank Schirrmeister, head of arvato’s SCM Solutions business unit said, “By combining our operations with those of Netrada, we have become one of Europe’s leading providers of integrated B2B and B2C e-commerce services. By taking over OGLI, we create a beachhead for our customers to establish their e-commerce activities in south east Europe.”
“In this exciting and rapidly growing e-commerce environment, we see the acquisition of OGLI as an ideal platform for expanding our business in Turkey,” said arvato Turkey’s Chief Executive Officer Soner Cesur. “We haven’t just bought a well-established company, but have also gained an experienced management team. The OGLI executives have twenty years of experience in supply chain management processes.”
