Australia Post expands Alexandria hub

Australia Post announced that it has opened its expanded business hub in Alexandria, Sydney, Australia. The new 6,500 sq m warehouse is almost twice the size of the previous facility and the extra space allows for additional parcel processing equipment, speeding-up delivery and improving customer service.

“Our Alexandria site contains a dedicated parcel processing facility, van fleet, and extended hours for parcel collection as well as access to our free 24/7 parcel lockers and the ability to get parcels sent directly to the Business Hub for collection with alerts sent by SMS,” said Australia Post General Manager Business Hubs, Rebecca Burrows.

Australia Post stated that the Alexandria Business Hub was the first of several major network upgrades that it expects to complete in time for the 2014 Christmas period.

“The Alexandria Business Hub was part of a AU$2bn Future Ready investment programme announced in 2012 and is the result of a 16 month project to ensure the new facility was fully operational in time for the peak Christmas period,” Burrows said.
